Free accounts still progress towards camos, but camos beyond Woodland are locked. Become a supporter at any time to unlock earned camos. Supporters have unlimited access to the Infected mini-game.

Monthly can be cancelled any time from your account page. Your ladder position is yours either way — lapsing puts the top camos back on the shelf, it never takes back a puzzle you finished.
